My stand for the abortion issue is quite clear: pro-choice (and so as the filmmaker). I don’t understand the logic behind those pro life people- why they are prioritising the life of unborn babies than those that the babies are completely dependent to.

There is one sentence that gives me strong impression: religion can be be beautiful, but it could also be intolerant. When I saw that doctors and women that seek abortion even got shoot, I realized how diverse Americans can be, and how intolerant some of them can be.

It is surprised to know that several Republican presidents are pro-choice but they turned to pro-life in the end. Abortion is closely linked with the political identity nowadays and this is absolutely not a good sign to solve this social issue. In addition, it is also one of the issues that enlarge the rift of the American society, which is clearly reflected in this documentary.

All in all, this documentary provides a very good introduction to the issue and I highly recommend it if you want to know more about the history and the complexity behind it. It is good to know that how politics is handled in America, and how democracy is practiced. I do hope that more documentaries like this could be filmed- but I am not sure if it is still possible in this turbulent era…
