Plot Summary:A London 1849 slashing of her throat is one of many nightmarish visions and real apparitions, notably involving fallen archangel Baraquel, which make Cassie desperate to stay awake, in vain, she only gets cranky and unpredictable, even hurting kind, timid nerdy admirer Felix. She fails to find out her doctor's part, but after satisfying her lesbian drift in the morgue Thelma follows teacher Jane to Azazeal, and the Satanic son Cassie bore him, still growing highly accelerated; when told and meeting them, Cassie refuses to become a family.
