I think this is quite common in middle-aged families, you and your wife are tortured by living, maybe you losed your couple, but life must go on. you have only one purpose, to bring your helpless kids to a safe place, you know you may lose your mind during the trip, you make a goal to yourself, to stimulate you by essential needs, animal instinct, then you just walk and walk, dont know why, forget the original purpose and the destination, just like a zombie, keep walking, till death makes you can't march anymore.
